Managing groups of people into high functioning teams through active mentoring and technical training. Building a group of people into a high functioning team – A group of people work together to achieve a common goal. When you can get that group of people to take pride in their work, collaborate, and take accountability, then they transform into a team. I believe any group of people can become a team. It takes time, effort and there will be conflicts. When the transformation finally happens, it is as different as day and night. People start respecting each other more and working together. In my previous leadership positions I have been successful at transforming groups into high functioning teams. Knowledge Centered Support – Knowledgebase Development I believe at the heart of any modern technical company documentation is key and one of the largest tools available should be a solid knowledgebase. Developing and maintaining a knowledgebase is a process not a project. Proper contribution and usage can lower resolution times on tickets up to 30%. It can also lower the time an engineer can be proficient in a new product from 6 months down to 1 month. Balance of technical ability, leadership and customer service- My work experience provides me with the proper skillset to carefully balance these three traits. I work with my team to develop not only their technical abilities but also their soft skills. I feel that to be a successful engineer you need to have a balance. Through mentoring and leading by example I have been able to impart these traits on my team. When need be I will work with a client to resolve both their technical issues and any account issues they may have, and I will always make sure the end user is happy before disconnecting on any issues they may have.
