About Andrew Thomison

I’m a grad student for IU Indianapolis’ Sports Capital Journalism Program, graduate of (formerly) IUPUI Journalism/PR and a current sports journalist. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a primary focus in sports in August of 2021. During my time at IUPUI, I worked for three different writing websites: ISportsWeb.com, Sportskeeda.com and The Indianapolis Star. Currently, I work as a Senior Colts Writer for SBNation’s Stampede Blue. While working for ISportsWeb, Sportskeeda and the Indianapolis Star, I produced several hundred articles. A majority of my work for those organizations was primarily feature-based, but I’ve also written a fair amount of report/ interview-based pieces throughout my time as a sports journalist, too. In February 2020, as part of the IUPUI’s Sports Capital Journalism Program, I was able to cover the NFL Combine. While covering the Combine, I took part in interviewing some top-tier NFL prospects, such as Joe Burrow, Xavier McKinney and J.K. Dobbins. In total, I’ve been fortunate to cover three different NFL Combines here in Indianapolis (2020, 2023 & 2024), which have allowed me to expand my professional network and gain more knowledge of my profession. Most recently, I covered both the Big Ten Championship game between Michigan and Iowa and the National Championship game in Houston between Michigan and Washington.
