Since my early days reading financial markets quotes in the Sunday papers, I've been fascinated by the challenge of interpreting data and forming a view on what's up or down next. Today, with Bloomberg and Twitter at my fingertips, my passion for the markets burns brighter than ever. Over the years, I've developed a diverse set of skills by partnering with clients through a quartet of crises, repeatedly stress-testing them. During the Global Financial Crisis, I demonstrated my adaptability by learning about FICC derivatives like interest rate swaptions, CDS, tranches, and correlation products, and understanding the risks they discounted. This led me to structure trades in 1 delta or options form to help equity long short clients hedge or take explicit alpha positions. During the European Sovereign Crisis & Brexit, I proved my resilience by implementing those GFC skills and providing HF clients with structures to manage risk through sovereign CDS, FX binaries, and equity vol, among others. This experience provided the foundation for me to interpret macro views into equity themes (baskets) and facilitate HFs with an equity-only mandate express their views. One of the highlights of my career has been working with the GS Thematic Working Group, where a small number of sales and traders determined the themes we believed to be relevant, and decided on how best to implement these views in both 1 delta and assymetric formats. Through this experience, I've honed my ability to identify emerging thematic trends across financial markets and translate them into actionable investment recommendations for clients. I am always looking to improve my skill set and stay ahead of the curve. That's why I am currently learning how to code in Python, with a little help prompting ChatGPT. I believe that combining human expertise with cutting-edge technology can yield powerful results. I thrive in collaborative environments where I can work with colleagues who have different skills, are willing to debate different viewpoints, and leverage technology and data to test hypotheses. As a result, I am confident that I can bring a unique perspective and valuable contributions to anyone looking for a dedicated and adaptable team player.
