About Andrew Watters

Early Career: Farm consultant for the then NZ Dairy Board from 1987 to 1990. Joined Tui Milk Products & Kiwi Dairies as Milk Supply Manager responsible for a team of more than 100 people. Farming: In 1998 left to pursue a sharemilking and farming career which culminated in winning the NZ Sharemilker of the Year title with my wife Alison in 2004. In 2004 was awarded a Nuffield farming Scholarship to study 'Innovation Management'. Bought first farm in 2004 & combined that with the family farm in 2009 with a total of 650 cows, which we still own & operate. Chief Executive and Managing Director - AGInvest Holdings (Branded MyFarm(: Became a partner in AGInvest in 2005. In that time established a farming portfolio of more than 45 dairy properties located in Canterbury and Southland milking cows and with a capital value of over NZ$500 million. Approximately 60% of the investments come through the MyFarm Ltd business with capital raised from NZ investors investing into single farm investments. Director - MyFarm Sheep & Beef: AGInvest formed a 50/50 JV with the Duncan & Marshall families in 2013; at present seven farms under management (or contracted) with significant expansion opportunities. Chairman - Figured Ltd: a start-up farm accounting solution which operates in partnership with Xero. Figured has the potential to significantly 'improve the business of farming" through providing a tool for farmers & their professionals to work efficiently together and via the range of financial management solutions that will be provided.
