About Andrew Wu

Started off as a humble mechanical engineer trainee 20 years ago, have grown into an experienced, creative R&D professional today. During the years I have designed numerous products for the consumer and industrial markets; handled them from development stages through ID negotiation to detail design, tooling and testings, and finally to production. Besides having the usual "in-depth knowledge of different engineering materials, manufacturing methods and processes," and being "an innovative problem solver and team player," I am also skilled in shielding design (EMI/RFI) for EMC, and in providing thermal solution for electronics within enclosures. Complimenting these skills is a strong track record of team leading and mentoring. Highlights of additional skills and experience: ‣ Skilled in designing enclosures for electronic products to be used in harsh environment ‣ Focused in product design using 3D CAD system (Pro/Engineer & SolidWorks) for 20 years ‣ Published hardware design, CAD design and administration guidelines and best practices ‣ Completed all design, administrator, PDM, and Super-user technical courses offered by PTC and RAND ‣ Streamlined collaboration between MCAD-ECAD by successfully building a company-wide 3D MCAD/ECAD library ‣ Promoted concurrent design within workgroup by implementing and maintaining a workgroup PDM solution (Pro/Intralink) ‣ Have been an amateur photographer for over 20 years.
