About Andria McClellan

Andria McClellan is an active elected local official, community volunteer, civic leader and fundraiser. She was raised in the commonwealth of Virginia, where she is now bringing up her own three sons with her husband Mike. Upon graduating from U.Va, Andria began her career in sales and marketing, working for two Fortune 500 companies. After attending Wharton, she discovered her passion as an entrepreneur. Andria played a leading role in two start-up ventures where she developed a personal understanding of the challenges faced by small businesses. Taking a break from her professional career, Andria dedicated her time to raising her children, while also helping others in the community, serving on various boards and commissions and raising money for organizations and causes in need. During that time, she also became a leader in the areas of civics and politics. She now serves on the boards of UVA's Center for Politics, the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership and the CIVIC Leadership Institute. She has received gubernatorial appointments to serve on the Virginia Small Business Advisory Board, the Family & Children's Trust Fund, and the Chesapeake Bay Commission's Local Government Advisory Committee. Andria has also taken an active role in helping several national, state and local Democratic campaigns, and she was a founding board member of the Democratic Business Alliance of South Hampton Roads. In 2016, she successfully ran for a Superward seat on the Norfolk City Council, defeating a 16-year incumbent in her election. Andria is focused on a pro-growth, innovation platform which includes improving public schools; diversifying the economy in a city home to the largest Naval Base in the world; finding innovative solutions and funding to address sea level rise and climate change mitigation; and, creating a more engaged, accessible and transparent city government.
