About Andries Venter

I have more than 30 years of experience in the management, design and construction of a wide range of projects and participated in all phases of project management, from feasibility studies and concept design to commissioning, which includes EPCM-type projects. In addition, my experience includes the design, construction, operation and closure of tailings storage facilities (TSFs) and have extensive experience in the operations of tailings storage facilities and numerous audits following local regulatory guidelines. I participated in all phases of tailings storage facilities projects, from feasibility studies and concept design to commissioning and operational management. My experience includes hydraulically placed tailings using open ends, spigots, cyclones and dry stacking. My extended work history includes mine infrastructure (haul roads, bridges), dams (hydraulic fill and earth fill); water balances; pipelines (water and slurry); water supply systems; township services (water, sewerage, roads and stormwater); and building works. The range of projects I have been involved in varies from labour-intensive rural water supply and building schemes to technically advanced multi-disciplinary facilities for the mining industries. I obtained experience on projects in various countries, i.e, Australia, Tanzania, South Africa, Botswana, Malawi and Namibia.
