About Andy Banks
After a short spell with the Met Police and completing a degree in Human Movement, I set up the UK's first full time professional diving programme in Bradford. In 1992 I moved to Plymouth as director of a company that was sub contracted to Plymouth City Council to run diving, pre school / rec gymnastics and trampolining in their facilities. Diving for all in a safe and fun environment and taking talent to its peak were the aims. A number of succesful divers have now been nurtured through that system including Tom Daley, Tonia Couch, Sarah Barrow and Brooke Graddon. After 25 years in Plymouth it was time to move on and when an opportunity to work with Diving Australia came about it was straight on a plane to Melbourne to work with some of their top divers and join their highly experienced National Coaching Panel.
