About Andy Bantock

I've been a Youth and community worker for the past 18 years working for a variety of organisations from local authorities to charities and not for profits, delivering a varied selection of youth provision and projects. Currently I am working at a small, but growing charity Live! based in Chester - their remit is to provide social, health and well-being activities for children, young people and adults with disabilities. My job role is to oversee all adult activities at the charity, deliver face to face sessions and countless other tasks that is required within a small charity from IT support, to marketing and social media. I deliver, and am a strong advocate for, African Djembe drumming/community music making with groups of disabled adults on a weekly basis, I feel by encouraging participants to actively engage they develop their sense of rhythm, communication skills, uplifted well-being and a real sense of fun and belonging. In addition I am available to hire to deliver drumming circle workshops to groups of children, young people and adults in community or corporate settings - the drums are a great tool for engagement and they build self confidence, raise happiness levels and are most importantly fun. I have been a volunteer trustee at Northwich and District Youth Centre for the past 3 years, I currently hold a secretary role and I'm enjoying the challenge of modernising the centre to bring it into the 21st century.
