About Andy Bonsell

I joined Etio performance benchmarking as a consultant 34 years ago and have been involved in financial benchmarking with both Public and Private sector clients. This involvement included the design and development of databases; data collection and interpretation of both accounting and staffing data, presentation of results to all levels of senior management. I am currently part of the HE Benchmarking team that delivers around 15 individual projects per annum. Experience I worked for Corah Plc from 1982 to 1993 as a Textile Technologist, during which time I studied part-time for a degree in Textile Technology at De Montfort University, graduating with a first class honours in 1992. In 1993, I became one of the first members of staff in Tribal’s Benchmarking company, joining the company as a Consultant. I acquired vast experience of benchmarking in numerous different sectors, including textiles, building societies, electricity distribution companies, commercial laundry services, hotels, transport and distribution services, and Mental Health NHS Trusts, working both in the UK and overseas on these projects. In 1996 the company decided to focus its benchmarking work on the Education sectors, and since then I have benchmarked schools (primary and secondary), colleges (agricultural, FE, adult education and sixth form), Training and Enterprise Councils (TECs), careers services and universities. I joined the higher education benchmarking team on its creation in 2004.
