12 years of public and aviation forecasting experience. Routinely take and collect weather and hydrologic observations using AWIPS, NEXRAD radar, and other observational equipment to quality control meteorological, hydrological, and climate data ensuring the data is as accurate as possible. Routinely use the data to then develop, produce and deliver public and aviation forecast products including life-saving warnings, watches, advisories and outlooks to the public and core partners that share in the public safety and protection of property all while ensuring that the information is as correct, precise, and timely as possible. Coordinate with neighboring Weather Forecast Offices (WFO) and National Centers to ensure collaborated forecast products and services. Routinely creates Impact Based Decision Support briefings, social media posts, and phone briefings which serve to inform core partner and public decision making. Routinely lead a group of forecasters as Shift Supervisor to collaborate and co-create the day to day operational forecast products of a WFO. Distribute workload among team members in accordance with situational workflows, skill level and occupational specialization to ensure quality and timely issuance of products. Routinely train new forecasters in the day-to-day operations of a forecaster by teaching them how to quality control weather observations, integrate the observations into forecasts for weather, water, and climate hazards including producing life-saving impact-based warnings, advisories, and outlooks.
