I have a passion for managing teams that combine tech and software products to create innovative solutions to solve business needs. In my last role as SVP Professional Services, I was fortunate to lead an outstanding global team who delivered big-data finance solutions across the banking, insurance, and telco sectors. My extensive software and consulting background contribute to my credibility, allowing me to deep dive on a topic when needed, but also to step back and articulate concepts at a suitable level of abstraction, and in the right context, for the audience in front of me. The best piece of advice I have received in my career was that a consultant has two ears and one mouth; they should be used in those proportions! Listening is a vital skill in stakeholder management, be that in the sales cycles, contract negotiations, implementation issues or escalations. Acknowledging ideas, needs and concerns is paramount in building rapport and taking the tension of out of potentially tricky situations. Acknowledgement is not agreement, merely the first step in seeking a resolution. Leadership is something I particularly enjoy as it allows me to pass down my experience and wisdom (often learnt the hard way). I strongly believe that everyone who comes to work wants to do the best job possible, so my style is very much to give everyone a voice and a space to grow. It is extremely gratifying to lead a time who formulate pragmatic solutions and brilliant ideas daily!
