With a foundation in the service industry, my career journey evolved from professional cake decorating to a rewarding path in healthcare. My transition was driven by a desire for professional growth and a passion for serving others. Drawing from my experience volunteering, I seamlessly transitioned into the role of an Activity Coordinator, where my skill set naturally aligned with the position's demands. My abilities encompassed working with elders, delivering exceptional customer service, fostering interpersonal communication, demonstrating effective management, maintaining organizational efficiency, and implementing creative arts initiatives. Driven by a commitment to excellence, I journeyed to attain the Activity Professional Board certification (AP-BC), further supplemented by ongoing efforts to secure the Activity Director Certification (ADC). While at Buckingham, my main goal was to enhance the quality of life for seniors in multi-care settings. The Buckingham Community offers assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing levels of care. Most of my time was spent working closely with skilled nursing residents and documenting with Matrixcare. When I arrived at Clayton Oaks, a new step for me was the Life Enrichment Director position for assisted living residents. Both times working for these communities, I gained extensive experience, including documenting MDS, care plans, and Matrixcare. My tenure also involved fostering enduring partnerships with vendors and entertainers over five years, underscoring my proficiency in relationship-building and collaboration. Additionally, I diligently pursued continuing education opportunities, investing five years in further honing my skills and knowledge to maintain certification status. Throughout my career, I have consistently developed tailored activities to enrich residents' lives, grounded in a comprehensive understanding of their individual needs and areas of care.
