About Andy Dixon

I'm someone who isn't shy of a challenge, and I am not afraid to go out of my comfort zone. I like to apply a 'big picture' approach to any problem or project where I can - instead of focussing on one facet, I like to look at everything around it too, so that any solution would not become a hindrance, and given the opportunity to be able to improve and make the end product more efficient. Big issues get broken down to small manageable workloads which can then come together into a full solution. I always take a security-first approach to what I do, risk assess it, and plan accordingly. I am a strong advocate of digital privacy and security - advocating the use of GPG / PGP for data storage and actively develop free services which help the public to identify security vulnerabilities on websites (Cryptonomica), reduce malware and tracking through my own DNS service, and provide a tool to actively attack and saturate Phishing website form collectors (Honeybadger). Through my life experience, nothing much surprises me these days, so I use this to my advantage where I can, and I am always yearning to develop further. I hate to be in a position where I stagnate. In my spare time, I do freelance work - anything from Rust, PHP, Golang, React Native to designing electronics (eg built an rechargeable ammo counter with a screen into a Nerf gun for my son), I enjoy photography so always enjoy going out and about with my camera.
