About Andy Downey
Experienced, hardworking, bilingual (English/Spanish), self-starting, capable and resourceful attorney with a background in civil litigation, including family law, immigration, criminal law and bankruptcy cases. During my time with the Kentucky Attorney General's office, I worked in the litigation department of the Kentucky Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, where I was lead on two cases in litigation against national corporations. Recently, I co-authored a successful Brief in Opposition to a Writ of Certiorari in the Supreme Court of the United States. In my free time, I like to give back to the community to the extent possible. Currently, I am an active member of the U of L LGBT Alumni Network, as well as a member of the Steering Committee for the U of L LGBT Center. Formerly, I was on the Board of the Kentucky Chapter of the ACLU and on the Board of the Kentucky Justice Association. My interests include speaking Spanish, cooking, cycling, traveling and spending time with my family.
