About Andy Farmer

I have had a passion for Aviation since I was a little boy, and consider myself very lucky to be following a career path that allows me to work in a field I am passionate about. I am a WestJet Chief Duty Dispatcher and currently ensure the Safe and Efficient Operation of WestJet Flights throughout its Flight Network. I am responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance in all jurisdictions WestJet operates. As a Chief Duty Dispatcher I am charged with providing guidance, supervisory support and assist with day of training support, and for providing coaching and feedback to floor dispatchers. I am also responsible for representing WestJet's daily operational interests with various Aviation Authorities and Air Traffic Facilities. Chief Duty Dispatchers negotiate daily aircraft departure and arrival slots, special routings, flow controlled routes and other airspace requirements that impact WestJet's daily operational success. Internally, I operate as a point of contact between various WestJet departments and the flight Dispatch team to ensure clear and timely communication between all of the various Operational Teams.
