About Andy Floyd

I am a Product owner who is passionate about customer centric ideals and the outcome versus output philosophy. I also believe in Agile as a mindset and not just Waterfall cosplaying as Agile. Far too often I see Agile concepts being treated as "just processes" that become part of the churn. I am also an extremely creative individual with strong storytelling skills, experience solving complex problems, working with cross-functional teams, and managing stakeholder expectations. I spent years as a construction Project Manager, overseeing the budgeting, planning, and implementation of projects from small McDonalds, all the way up to large hospitals and malls. I have also kept my Project Management skills up to date through Google certificates, including specializing in Agile and Jira use. After I left the construction world, I entered tech. I now work with end users daily; listening and responding to their needs with empathy and compassion. Much of the time, I have to take their feedback and present it to our developers. And when it becomes a story or an issue in Jira, I keep track of it for stakeholders such as the customer, our sales department, and even managers. I am adept at speaking and writing on whatever level is necessary – whether the base knowledge is layperson customer or developer – to help people understand what’s going on and what needs to be done. My years of combined skills and experience mean I can communicate with end users, translate their needs into stories, and prioritize them with confidence.
