About Andy Forester

Long ago as a network technician, I taught myself PHP and built an Intranet from scratch for my employer. That yearning for learning and passion has driven me ever since. I worked many years as a web developer; be it custom HTML sites to mid-size WordPress sites to large Drupal websites. I've learned that I have a skill for databases. I love them. I love mapping out and creating them, seeing how each piece fits in the larger goal. I love creating the interaction, where front-line users don't need to be a programming expert. When a user says I've created magic, then I know I've done my job. At my current position with SFMOMA, I'm becoming quite the Tessitura expert. I had previously dabbled in Tessitura for a bit, but never dived deep and had the opportunity to see how it really works. I love managing all the different Tessitura environments and other database (db) environments, writing scripts and stored procedures so that outside sources can talk and interact with the db's. I'm not just about work and technology. My 4 year old makes me excited. She teaches us something new everyday, as well as patience. Plants and landscaping are my other passions. I do hope m one day to have a small business specializing in interior plants and all the cool decor that accompanies plants.
