About Andy Freiermuth
Started my medical career as an EMT. Moved into RT school after 3 years of working on the ambulance, and have been happily working as a respiratory therapist since. I primarily worked in pediatrics (NICU, CVICU, PICU). The last 3 and a half years I have been working as an adult ECMO Specialist. I have a passion for education, work as a preceptor, and love to continue to learn myself! I’m fortunate enough to have learned how to independently manage ECMO circuits including initiations, bedside reconfigurations, circuit changes, oxygenator cut out, adding or removing pigtails, etc. I hope to be able to make a lifelong career in ECMO/MCS and am excited to push myself to grow!
