About Andy Garcia

It only takes a few seconds of playing your favorite game on mute or watching your favorite film without sound to realize how important audio is when it comes to creating a captivating experience. My passion lies in the recording, design, and implementation of immersive sound for video games and visual media. Creating audio that vivifies worlds, animates characters, and enhances storytelling to produce impactful experiences and form life-long memories for gamers and visual media consumers. I'm currently a senior in Music Technology at Wayne State University, where I’ve immersed myself in my classes (listed in the courses section below) and have strengthened my overall abilities with sound. As a Sound Engineer at the Schaver Music Recital Hall, I applied my experience in live sound and audio production in combination with the theoretical knowledge of audio engineering fundamentals and sound design that I've developed throughout my academic career, to assess audio needs and operate optimal systems of recording/sound reinforcement equipment for over 60 performances, with groups consisting of up to 9 musicians. As a Senior Associate Sound and Video Systems Producer at Royal Caribbean, I've developed my teamwork and communication skills by coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to design and produce effective and cost-efficient entertainment systems across 5 Royal Caribbean ships.
