About Andy Gibson

I am a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, working as a Senior Advisor for Connell Griffin based in their Sydney office. I am currently operating in the Lead Commercial role for Sydney Metro on the Central Station project. A new +$1bn brownfield Metro station is being constructed under Sydney’s Central Station. I also contribute heavily to CG’s working groups and enjoy learning new skills within business operations. Previously I worked in the Major Projects Directorate within Transport for London. I took pride in effectively and intelligently supporting the delivery of the Mayors Manifesto commitments, through a multi-billion pound capital programme to modernise London’s public transport and road networks. I have been working in the construction industry since 2007 with experience in both public and private sectors across a wide variety of projects and sectors (Rail, Stations, Roads, Tunnelling, New Housing and Schools). I am well versed in commercial management, negotiating, dispute resolution, contract administration, procurement, project reporting, project management, cost management and managing a team. I have experience in using a number of bespoke contracts, together with particular experience in using NEC contracts from inception to post contract management. I believe it is important to always build relationships internally and externally, to create a collaborative environment that achieves best project outcomes, by doing this, much conflict and dispute is avoided.
