About Andy Gough

I am Currently working as School Gardener Handyman for the Department of Education. I also run a part time gardener handyman business to keep my time occupied. My work with the schools revolves around the children, getting their assistance planting out gardens and creating projects for them to get involved with. I have designed and created gardens as well as areas for art installation. My handyman work takes in many aspects of maintenance and repair including the new installs on some occasions, My previous work experience in the electricity supply industry started in 1984 with the state energy commission (SEC) in Western Australia. Over 21 years in country Western Australia I gained experience in all aspects of line work. This included crane and plant operation, linesman level 1 on overhead construction and maintenance, low and high voltage switching (both overhead and underground), low and high voltage polymeric cable jointing, leading hand and occupational safety and health representative. In 21 years the company has changed names four times from SEC to SECWA to Western Power Corporation and finally Western Power Networks. In December 2004 I started work with Power Training Services, a branch of Western Power, after a stint as workplace trainer assisting with mandatory training. As trainer and training coordinator I have had involvement with E-Oz Industry Skills Council on the technical advisory committee, ESI Passport committee member and EUPA Training Council on a working group committee.
