Driven by desire to create equitable and low carbon approaches to living. Particular enthusiasm and experience in the development of community projects and social enterprises in the low carbon arena including food/drink/transport/arts/renewable energy. Strengths are thinking creatively and entrepreneurially, facilitation, mentoring, building collaborative initiatives and win-win partnerships, an ability to analyse complex situations and think laterally to develop new opportunities, secure funding, build teams and project manage delivery. Transport and operational systems delivery background including international market entry in Germany and China for TNT Logistics, third party logistics for Christian Salvesen and technology consultancy with PA Consulting. Thrives upon exploring new areas of knowledge and developing new approaches in collaboration with others. Developed businesses from both owner and economic development perspectives. Extensive experience of both small business and corporate arenas, social enterprises, academia and the public sector having gained a unique breadth of experience as a project manager, senior researcher, consultant, manager, business owner, economic development practitioner and director. In 2013 completed a part-time MSc in renewable energy and enterprise at Newcastle University and have various other degrees in business, psychology, bio-aeronautics (environmental approaches to land use) and computing (whole systems thinking). Former Full member of Institute of Logistics and Transport, former Chartered Marketer Institute of Marketing, Hexham Beekeepers Association and Tyne Valley Canoe Club.
