PROFILE I have spent my career in the rail industry, commencing as a BR sponsored student. My early professional life was spent as a technical officer and then production manager within a rolling stock depot. Through this and subsequent roles, including Engineering Director for Chiltern Railways, and Managing Director of Wrexham and Shropshire, I have developed an in-depth working knowledge of new build, maintenance and refurbishment of rolling stock, have held a number of senior manager and director positions in rail engineering and rail operations companies and am a successful and proven people manager. I am proud to have been the Managing Director of a railway company with the highest ever passenger satisfaction rating of 99%. I am now self employed and share my time between specific projects in rail and running a sailing holiday and hire boat business with my wife on the Norfolk Broads.
