About Andy Hay

I have undertaken several Senior Leadership positions in both my former school TCIS a continuum school in South Korea and my present school at ISC. I am currently enjoying my fifth year overall as an IB DP Coordinator. In this role, I am the pedagogical leader whose main responsibility is to ensure the IB standards, practices and values are upheld in my school. There are many responsibilities in this role including curriculum development, student support, teacher mentoring, parental engagement and ensuring school compliance to IB regulations. I am an experienced DP IB Business Management teacher, examiner and examination Team Leader. My IBEN experience involves numerous evaluation visits both in person and online with several of these being as the Team Leader. As a Programme Leader, I am knowledgeable about IB implementation and change management. I understand the challenges faced by the school community, especially the coordinator, in delivering IB programmes. I am also a Workshop Leader, a role in which I am able to train fellow IB educators and share best practices. During my teaching career, I have been able to develop and deploy a range of teaching skills to maximise the learning of all pupils. I have taught across the full ability range, pupils with recognised learning difficulties (SEN) through to IB Business Management pupils. I throughly enjoy being in the classroom as well as in a leadership position. I am proud of the value I can add to students learning and overall achievement. I recognise the need to be multi dimensional and I have diversified my teaching from Business Management to include Theory of Knowledge and addition, I have used my interest and expertise in sport to teach Key Stage 4 pupils Core PE. I have also coached soccer at Varsity level.
