About Andy Holmes

Having designed successful products for over 30 years, in industry and in consultancy, for clients in diverse market sectors, I have developed a deep insight into the whole design process from identifying market needs to delivering the final product. I have a pragmatic, down-to-earth approach that quickly turns blue sky ideas into reliable, desirable, working products by intuitively focusing on what is realistic and achievable. I enjoy getting to grips with tricky mechanical problems that require a bit of lateral thinking to resolve, but I'm also equally at home writing project briefs, knocking out concepts or getting hands on building prototypes. I've designed products that have been finalist - and occasionally even winners - in various design competitions and I also hold several patents for unique mechanisms that I have developed.
