affect, digitality, attachments A quick blurb: I'm interested in tracking ordinary life as mediated by the digital. I want to bring together questions of digitality and aesthetics with affect and materiality to ask about presumably simple things: What effort does it take to make relations work? How do people build worlds? How do we let go in/of relation? Virtual realism is offhand for a weak understanding of interconnections with this "Internet of Things", though that description remains profane and vulgar. A future project will tentatively play on the affective practice of humorlessness and seriousness in (a few, many) acts: the post-irony internet; modding/mapping/content creation; activism and leftist "infighting"; classroom "performativity", bootlicking, the "satki";[queer][alt] sex, or the bearable; letting go and letting god, etc. I think my work tries to be annoyingly open, if not inconveniently so. Some interests: affect, sexuality, race, transnationalisms, psychoanalytics, historical materialism, semiotics, critique, so on. outdated, will be building a website for my work :)
