Two-time public company CEO, board member and McKinsey senior advisor.Most recent – CEO of Coherent, Inc (COHR) a leading provider of lasers and laser-based technology for scientific, commercial, and industrial customers which was acquired by II-VI (link) in July 2022 for ~$6.6 billion after a once in a generation three-way public company bidding war for Coherent. While CEO we transformed the company and nearly tripled quarterly operating margins in a primarily virtual world during a global pandemic.Prior to Coherent, I was a Senior Advisor with McKinsey Transformation, focusing on high-impact transformations, agile change and positioning companies for growth. Prior to McKinsey, I served as President and CEO of publicly traded Diebold Nixdorf (DBD), a multinational financial and retail technology company. Under my leadership, Diebold Nixdorf became the largest ATM provider worldwide, through a re-shifting of the company’s focus to services and software along with the successful execution of one of the largest US-German cross-border corporate mergers. I joined Diebold after more than five years in executive leadership positions at Hewlett Packard and over 20 years at Siemens AG. Over the past 20 years, I have also served on numerous boards of private and public technology companies in three continents and I currently serve on the board of Cohu (Cohu).I am a US-German national and an experienced global technology business executive with over 35 years of management experience.
