About Andy McAfee

I am married to Chris a retired dispatcher from Buckley, Puyallup, and Fire Comm she has also worked at Boeing in Everett. I have three children Kasandra 30 UW Tacoma Graduate, Danielle 28 Banker, and Steven 26 Construction worker. My stepdaughter Michelle works as a Pharmacy Tech. I was born and raised in Bellingham WA and graduated from Bellingham High in 1986. Moved to Tacoma in 1989 to attend the Bates in the fire service program. I started in the fire service in 1989 in Milton as a volunteer and went to Riverside in 1995. I started full-time at Riverside in October 1997. In December of 2012 transferred to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue in a contract for service Riverside and Central Pierce. I ride Harleys and have a 2009 street glide and a 2016 Ultra Classic that I intend to ride more. I enjoy being outside and spending time with friends and family. I have been to Sturgis and a number of other runs. I was involved with the Tacoma Pierce County Chaplaincy as a Board member and still support them and the work that they do. I was involved with the Boy Scouts of America and have done a number of things with that organization starting in 1977 and ending in 2012. Currently involved with ABATE of Washington, fighting for the rights of motorcycle riders. I am also the safety officer for my local chapter of ABATE."Spanaway ABATE" doing safety videos and also a road captain. I was recently elected to serve as the State Coordinator for ABATE of Washington from July 2022-July 2024. I have an Associate in Technology degree in fire service from Bates Technical College, An Associate in Fire Command Administration from Pierce College, and a bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Western Governors University. I am a graduate of the Executive Fire Officer program at the National Fire Academy.
