About Andy Moore

I have recently retired from the Police Service where I was a Silver and Bronze Public Order Public Safety (POPS) commander for over 20 years. I have a proven track record of planning and commanding a wide range of events including high risk football matches, protests and high risk warrants.I have a well established background of successful partnership working and problem solving. In 2002 I received one of the Tilley Awards for problem oriented policing for my collaborative work to reduce alcohol related harm.I have a breadth of knowledge that has been as a result of leading a variety of teams including air support, mounted, tactical operations, geographic teams, training unit and a national role at the College of Policing. I have attained the CTLLs trainer qualification and have passed the Assessing Competence in the Workplace qualification. I was previously a JESIP command trainer, POPS tactical trainer and Taser X26 trainer. I also hold the Level 5 Crowd Safety Management qualification.I have considerable experience of devising Force training plans; development of national policies and procedures including the POPS APP; writing training products as well as implementing change and leading highly effective teams. I have been responsible for writing national products in my role as unit lead for PST and POPS; setting of national standards and introducing fundamental and exciting changes in both areas of business.I have extensive experience in writing and developing national policy, guidance and POPS related standards and accreditation processes. I have a proven track record of successfully working with key stakeholders at Force, regional, national and international level. I am now one of the directors at CARMS and have responsibility for developing and delivering products such as Behavioural Detection Officer courses as well as providing a variety of training and consultancy opportunities.
