Background
About Andy Pearce
A Chartered Civil Engineer and Supervising Civil Engineer with nearly 15 years of accrued knowledge and experience gained on a combination of National Highways major infrastructure projects such as the M1 Junction 19 Improvement (as shown in profile image), Testos / A19 Downhill Lane Junction Improvements, Heysham to M6 Link Road, A160 / A180 Port of Immingham Improvements and a number of Local Authority Schemes on framework contracts, such as Bedale, Aiskew and Leeming Bar Bypass, Crewe Green Link Road and A1231 New Wear Crossing (Northern Spire) for Sunderland City Council. I am presently undertaking the role of Engineering Design Manager for the Costain Jacobs Partnership on the £208m, M60 Simister Island Scheme. Read more about the scheme on the NCE website, here- I offer a number of different skills stemming from fundamental civils design, highway engineering and Project Management to the mentoring and development of junior engineers looking to further their careers in a diverse industry. Known for being able to develop relationships with Clients and team members. I am presently lead SCE for the Leeds office, co-ordinating the training schemes and management of nearly 40 graduate engineers. My previous role was APM & Engineering Manager on the Testos / A19 Downhill Lane Junction Improvement Scheme on which I oversaw design development for the DCO design and pre-construction design in PCF Stages 3 to 5, respectively. My team successfully delivered a pre-construction design between late 2019 and late 2020, including 9 months of remote working throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Up until May 2017 I was involved as APM on the M6 J19 scheme on the CDF RIP framework. On the M6 Scheme I was responsible for the day to day management of the scheme through PCF Stage 2 - Option Selection and leading up to Preferred Route Announcement and SGAR2. My main responsibilities include ensuring the quality of the deliverable PCF products, liaising with the Client and statutory and non-statutory stakeholders, financial reporting / progress reporting / CRaMS, CPF submissions and risk management. Profile photo - M1 Junction 19 Interchange - opened for traffic in 2016 - was the first project I worked on as a graduate in 2008 and then worked on at various stages throughout the development phase and construction phase.
