About Andy Reddin

I currently work in the federal public service as an inspector for Measurement Canada, and I have previous experience in scientific research and teaching at the university level. I enjoy working in a variety of settings, but I am most engaged when I have the opportunity to help solve interesting problems. I tend to approach new topics by trying to understand their fundamental principles. I like tinkering, figuring out how things work, and fixing things that don't. I have hands-on experience working with electronics and scientific equipment, and I have an intermediate proficiency with computer programming in a variety of languages. I am especially comfortable with calculus, numerical modelling, and data analysis. My ideal work environment is one in which I get to collaborate with a team of innovative thinkers — taking on a variety of tasks, tackling a range of complex problems, and offering my perspective wherever it may be needed. Overall, my greatest motivator is my desire to learn, either by developing new skills or applying my existing skills to new problems.
