About Andy Sposato

I am currently researching the role of germline stem cells in adult tissue homeostasis using zebrafish. I am a founder of both the College of Science LGBTQ+ STEM Interest Group and the School of Biological Sciences Committee for Representation, Engagement, Equity, and Social Justice at the University of Utah. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona in May 2018. I completed an honors thesis, focusing on the evolutionary history of HID1 lncRNAs in some species of Brassicaceae, and a minor in Gender & Women's Studies. In addition, I served as an undergraduate learning instructor for the Introductory Molecular and Cellular Biology lab course. I was also involved with the student group, SolarCats, a solar advocacy and education initiative on campus and beyond.
