Background

About Andy Swanson

Open to AWS consultative projects where I can help a company understand strategies for migration, security controls, IaC, CI/CD, cloud architecture, and how to avoid common pitfalls. I see the same patterns in many different size orgs and the different problems that go along with them. This perspective allows me to provide value to clients and offer solutions that fit what the business needs. I understand there is no "one size fits all" but there are foundations that we can use to build from and provide a base from which everything else can grow. I specialize in AWS infrastructure design, security and compliance controls( HIPAA, PCI, NIST, FIPS, DoD.), 3rd party security tool integration with aws, custom telemetry with datadog/cloudwatch, CI/CD with Jenkins ( pipeline as code)/GitHub actions, IaC ( terraform, cloudformation), ECS, EKS, lambda, and lots of python work. I have worked in depth with many other AWS services in various size enterprise platforms. Latest projects are around DevSecops, mentoring staff around technical design and implementations, and hands on development in AWS. I have worked in large Fortune 100 platforms as well as small / medium enterprises. This diversity has been fantastic to provide unique exposure to different designs and solutions for many different technical and business challenges.* healthcare * DoD / GovCloud * State Government * Insurance * financial * Internet service provider * CDN * Web hosting * SaaS
