About Andy Tan

A Happy Man: Life is a journey, not a destination. I am currently managing a team of more than 400 staff & volunteers overseeing Grassroots Organizations, aligning their objectives with PA’s vision. Assisting the Grassroots Adviser (elected Member of parliament) in overall strategic and operational planning of Constituency matters and in charged of front desk role in serving residents, facility maintenance, community centre accounts & daily operations and People development & grooming the next generation is of great importance as they are the most important resource. What predecessors have given us in terms of opportunities, we must in turn give our younger people the same opportunities. I have the opportunity to mentor colleagues in career matters and their promotion to higher appointments and mentored colleagues in their achievements in receiving the PA Staff of The Year Award. We are stronger as a team, each bringing a different perspective and adding value by helping one another with a strong sense of common purpose. The West Coast Constituency Office @West Coast Community Centre has achieved the Public Service 21 Star Service Team Award (2017), PA Team Award (2016, 2017 and 2020). Some of the latest achievements include the West Coast Community Development & Welfare Fund Committee achieving the MCCY Transparency Award 2022 and the West Coast Grassroots Organizations partnering LTA has achieved the Municipal Services Apex Award 2022. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent Singapore for International Association of Traffic & Safety Science in Japan from September to November 2016 and represent PA for Shanghai Youth Federation Enterprise Attachment Programme for 2 weeks from 9 to 21 December 2013. All these programmes have enabled me to develop a broader sense of perspective and understanding the aspirations and challenges of our friends in Asia & ASEAN.
