About Andy Winchester

I’m Andy, Director at Strata, a growing firm of Oxfordshire-based Chartered Accountants, providing SMEs with finance support and business advice. I have over 20 years’ experience, supporting businesses to establish rigorous financial systems and achieve growth. As a business we don’t ‘just’ provide accountancy services, but ensure that our value is in the delivery of real insight into the challenges and opportunities that SMEs face. My particular experience and passion lies in working closely with businesses to identify their business tax and accounting requirements, establishing internal systems and processes that allow them to operate optimally. In some cases, this means transitioning them to cloud-based accounting software, in order to give them the most up to date and accurate management information. It’s not a one-size fits all approach. We use Xero as our main accounting platform alongside other complementary software which interface to provide fully streamlined solutions that are bespoke to each business. Some recent examples of our work include- Assisting a client in the tax planning, structure and purchase of a business and premises. This included performing the relevant due diligence work, assisting in application for finance (of over £1million) and setting up the company structure in a tax-efficient way- Restructuring a client’s internal accounting function to help save the business over £50k in costs. By streamlining their processes, transitioning them from a manual to an online automated system, they can now provide their board of directors with up to date management reports- Moving over 30 businesses from no bookkeeping software onto Xero accounting - Working with my portfolio of over 50 owner-managed businesses to advise on common business challenges and help build supporting networks and link relevant supply chains.
