About Aneesh Kumar

My core professional purpose is to improve the US healthcare system and make it better for its true customers—individuals. For this purpose, I marshal my extensive healthcare and consulting experience, deep knowledge of technology, and entrepreneurial track record (two startups from scratch). My superpower is first-principles thinking combined with an abiding commitment to disruptive innovation. In the Valley, I defined and delivered multi-hundred-million-dollar products at Apple and Openwave Systems. In healthcare, as Chief Product Officer at Elevance Health, drove $1B+ increase in sales for the company’s commercial division. Have created product organizations, processes, and culture from scratch at Gainwell Technologies and Cigna. At Accenture, helped payers and providers with system transformation. Have started two companies in healthcare. Have led teams of 2 to 2,400 professionals. I earned an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BS(EE) from Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. Outside of work, I like to hike the Chattahoochee River, read science fiction and business strategy books, and spend time with my family.
