About Angela Baker

Throughout my nursing career I have always strive for excellence. The passion I have for nursing and the opportunity to give back to a community with unwavering advocation has kept my momentum going to be the leader I am today. Starting my career off in Pediatrics built the solid foundation of nursing and clinical skills I have today. There, I took on the challenge of being a preceptor and charge nurse. Throughout my time at Hermann I was involved in numerous educational events that help build critical-thinking abilities and skills in my peers. In addition, I have received numerous awards, including Nurse Innovator of the Year. After 5 years, I switched to Emergency Nursing with Harris Health System. Emergency Nursing has contributed to my growth through prioritization, team-nursing, early-recognition, and leading through adversity. I'm currently a Nurse Manager and strive to create a healthy work environment where staff can grow and thrive in. I lead with effective communication, honesty, dedication, integrity, ambition, punctuality, and confidence. My clinical experiences have taught me to focus on the patient/family as they're the priority. In addition, thinking critically using problem solving skills to solve unexpected issues that arises in healthcare settings. Lastly, leading with my team in mind is a necessity. Collaborating with my team and interdisciplinary members to improve team dynamics, and quality of care is upmost important. Furthermore, I believe God, Faith, and Determination is the key! Looking forward to networking and communicate with healthcare professionals!
