About Angela Bangs

Dr. Bangs earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health in Health Policy and Administration with distinction from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA with induction into Beta Gamma Sigma from Clark University. She worked in government consulting on behalf of the North Carolina Medicaid program with the Public Consulting Group. She then became Project Coordinator for the Montana Office of Rural Health/ Area Health Education Center, where she focused on completing community health needs assessments (CHNA) on behalf of critical access hospitals (CAH). She also served as the Montana Office of Rural Health project lead for the Frontier Medicine Better Health Partnership (FMBHP), a Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovations (CMMI) project. She was selected to be a 2014-2015 National Rural Health Association (NRHA) Fellow and completed a scholarly project concerning the delivery of behavioral health services in a rural setting. In 2016, she started medical school at the University of Washington School of Medicine as a Targeted Rural/Underserved Track (TRUST) scholar based on her commitment to providing primary care in a rural/underserved area. Based on her commitment to service, she was nominated to the Gold Humanism Honor Society in 2019. She is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), Montana Medical Association (MMA), National Rural Health Association (NRHA), and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). She is currently completing her medical residency training at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho (FMRI) in Boise, ID and will be serving as a chief resident for the 2022-2023 academic year. She will be graduating in June 2023.
