About Angela Holmes

Angela Holmes is CEO of Mercury Data Science (MDS). At MDS, we build AI solutions for life sciences and healthcare to support drug discovery, medical devices, digital health and clinical trials. Our data science team is trained in computational biology, biophysics, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, and pharmacology. Our clients have been able to advance research and discovery, discover digital biomarkers to reduce reliance on subjective endpoints, increase clinical trial participant retention, improve algorithms for diagnosis and remote monitoring via medical devices, and predict the outcomes of claims. Many of our past and current projects involve the creation of AI solutions by working with complex data sets such as ECG, EEG, video/gaze, voice, actigraphy, medical images, genomics, proteomics, RNAseq, scientific literature, clinical, and claims data. Our team of data scientists and software engineers unify data science and software engineering to build AI applications to speed the development of therapeutic pipelines, increase the probability of success of clinical programs, accelerate product roadmaps, and get devices to market. Angela is an AI strategist with 15+ years of experience working with venture backed / high growth and enterprise organizations in healthcare, life sciences, energy, and financial services. She has experience in designing and implementing data and AI-driven solutions, guiding product development priorities, and growing software adoption and revenue. She has held leadership roles in machine learning (ML) driven software companies across sales, product strategy, marketing, and customer success. She completed the Texas Medical Center startup accelerator program (TMCx) and has held key roles in global consultancies including Ernst & Young, Capgemini, and Perficient. She holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech and Johns Hopkins University.
