Background
About Angela Jacobs
Over the past 20+ years, I have built a solid reputation as a driven, flexible, and dependable member in the Oil and Gas industry. I began my career in the oil and gas sector at TGS (formerly A2D Technologies) scanning well logs, classifying logs by tool type, identifying the well API using state databases, calibrating logs, and digitizing logs to create LAS files. My time at TGS provided exposure to well logs, onshore and offshore US and around the world including Canada, Russia, Mexico, Madagascar, Nigeria, United Kingdom, Norway, Brazil, Australia, and Syria. I was promoted to supervisor in 2007, allowing me to improve on my leadership and project management skills while supervising 19 local staff members and 3 companies in India. In 2013, I joined Southwestern Energy (SWN) as a geoscience analyst in the Appalachian basin. In this role I maintained a regional Kingdom project using state and vendor data, assisted in the lab running Nuclear Magnetic Resonance on core plugs, supported development and operations geologists, maintained accurate planned well inventory, and created monthly competitor surveillance maps for leadership. After joining SWN, I quickly realized that I would like to further my education and become a geologist. I attended University of Houston to complete my Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and then my Master of Science degree in Petroleum Geology. I completed both degrees while working full time as a geoscience analyst in the Appalachian basin. After completing both degrees, I was promoted to Development Geologist in the Haynesville basin. I create work closely with planning, reservoir, and drilling engineers to create an optimal development plan, predict potential shallow geological hazards while drilling, follow wells through drilling and completions, and analyze competitor data to further basin development.
