About Angela Jacques

I was born in Proserpine, North Queensland, and despite enjoying growing up on a farm in Bundaberg, I'm a city girl at heart. I've recently developed a surprising love of baseball (if you haven't seen a game, it's a definite must), and have always loved to read and snow ski (not easy for a Queenslander). I volunteer for causes that I'm passionate about and advocate for women in STEM. Currently, I'm working to grow She Codes and diversify the tech industry. My job is to ensure the success of programs and participants across Australia while helping the company scale. One of the great parts of managing a scale-up is communicating with various stakeholders, from participants and instructors to supporters and partners. The challenge of ensuring smooth and efficient operation by overseeing logistics, budgets and scheduling appeals to my multitasking nature, but my favourite activity is collecting and analysing data to inform decisions on improving the program. I am, after all, fundamentally a science nerd. I enjoy meeting new people and scoping out new coffee shops so reach out if you'd like to talk to me about women in tech, science, or baseball.
