About Angela McNellan

Angela first discovered her passion for architecture and construction in a high school CAD class. She used her 2rd place in the Canadian Skills Competition as a guide that eventually landed her in the Mohawk Archiectural Technology Advanced Diploma program. From her first coop placement she knew she had landed in the right industry the day she stepped on site in steel toe boots. Most of her fondest memories involve trekking through the mud at the start of a project, the controlled chaos of busy concrete pour days, or the quiet thrill in marking up deficiencies that allow for a final opportunity to remember all the project details. Her favourite projects have been: the Sick Kid's Research Tower and the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital with Ellisdon as a Jr. Field Engineer then as an Assistant Superintendent; the Highway 410 Landscaping and LINK2 Condos Green Roof projects with Oakridge as a Jr. Project Manager; the AHT Indigenous Community Health Center with Prism Partners as a Jr. Project Manager; and the Prologis Park 410/UPS Tenant Fit Up with Leeswood as an on site Project Coordinator. It is a long list of favourites, but what they all have in common is that they were all large scale, complex projects with critical schedules that had a positive impact on the local communities. They were also sources of significant professional and personal growth in part due to working with fantastic people. Most importantly, they were all LEED or otherwise green construction projects, and that most aligns with Angela's core values. The next steps she has planned is to get her PMP and LEED BD+C designations as she works her way to becoming a competent Project Manager.
