About Angela Murphy

After a long and happy 36.8-year career with Merseyside Probation Trust now known as The Probation Service, I have left and am now employed by Tomorrow's Women (TW) and in my eleventh year as Chief Executive Officer. I was instrumental in the setting up of the Charity along with Cath Earlam, Sue Brown, and Maureen Thompson (Chair of Trustees). TW is based in the old St Laurence's School, Beckwith Street East, Birkenhead CH41 3JE. TW was registered as a Limited Company in April 2012 and became a Charity in September 2012. Tomorrow's Women empowers women and girls aged 14 + to be all that they want to be through support and engagement with over 190 Wirral agencies and partners within our unique, female-only, safe environment. Our aim is to give all Wirral women equal opportunities to enable them to make positive lifestyle choices. TW has to date received over members and receives approximately 650 visitors per week- that is on average 140 visitors per day! Women are a very powerful tool in today's society and if given appropriate support and opportunities whilst at TW this can positively improve their lives, resulting in a strong intergenerational effect and thus making our community a safer, thriving place to live. Exciting update is that due to MOJ Funding, TW is now working within Cheshire West and Chester area. I hope to have news in the months to come about opening a new Centre for all adult women. Will keep you updated. UPDATE New Centre is at 5, Upper North Gate Street. Chester CH1 4EE. The Centre is currently being refurbished and is due to be opened in late November/early December
