About Angela Sharp

I am a tech enthusiast who is passionate about creating meaningful experiences for teams and users. I believe that purpose-driven businesses are becoming more important every day. We can use purpose as a tool for growth not only within business but also in our personal lives. I have had a rather unconventional career path, from waitressing, to stock photography for advertising, teaching abroad and online, then to reservations management in tourism. I found myself leading the Ubuntu Beds initiative during COVID-19 pandemic, building a database of thousands of healthcare professionals and hotels in South Africa from the ground up. Working and leading remote teams through a pandemic was incredibly rewarding and stirred up a passion inside me for remote facilitation, personal development, design-thinking, data, tech and empathetic leadership. I became obsessed with the detail in the user journey, always working to improve the user experience. Designing chatbot solutions has become part of my identity, I love what I do wholeheartedly and hope to make a difference in the lives of those who need these accessible solutions most. My greatest achievement thus far has been my creation of Alora, a WhatsApp-based mentor-bot that reached unique users and went on to win the Turn.io 2021 chat for impact award.
