Though it's often easy to stay within our comfort zones, doing so prevents growth; how will we ever know what we're capable of if we don't take any risks? That's why Software Engineering intrigues me so much. The field is growing rapidly, demanding skill and determination from programmers around the world - and I'm ready to be a part of this amazing movement. In high school, I worked in a FIRST Robotics team to build a robot which made it to the world championships, built robots in Computer Engineering courses, and coded games/programs in Computer Science courses. I take particular interest in software security, and what software engineers do to make sure companies' data and users' data stay safe. In my spare time, I love to play music on the piano, guitar, or trombone, and I also sing in the University of Waterloo's lower-voice a capella group, the Water Boys.
