About Angelo Ngor

I am a senior level infectious disease microbiologist with more than 10 years of experience in healthcare system in developing and fragile context, specifically in clinical and field investigations, surveillance, all-hazards and emergency preparedness, One Health and global health security. Over years, I have been involved in designing and implementing strategies aimed at strengthening healthcare systems, specifically the disease surveillance system and diagnostic infrastructure leading to establishment of the National Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory, National Microbiology Reference Laboratory, Molecular Infectious Disease Laboratory for the early infant diagnosis of HIV and viral load testing programmes, all with the National Public Health Laboratory in South Sudan. My disease specific areas of interest include polio, malaria, tuberculosis, cholera and HIV/AIDS. My skill sets range from risk assessment, applying epidemiologic and biostatistical methods, emergency management and operations centers, clinical research, and workforce development, all focused on improving human health. I have led programmes and teams for agencies in government and international organisations.
