How do you define a diverse career? Marine Corps satellite intelligence. Electrical engineering. Manual and CNC machining. Platoon leader as an Army National Guard officer. Technical education for high school and adults. Product design and 3D CAD modeling. Project management for software development and testing. Every opportunity for change is an opportunity for growth. I have enjoyed many opportunities to explore vastly different disciplines in my professional career. Each challenge has given me a new perspective on my work ethics and values. I love to take on a new topic and embrace it, dedicating extra time to research and grow new skills to match my new responsibilities. With a background so diverse, it's interesting taking interviews. Early on I decided that until I found my career I would take different jobs and always in a new field than the last. My interests always kept me in the technical fields and my myriad experiences have paid off in interesting ways. I've found my passion in CAD/CAM and automation now and while the specific job title is not the most important, certain things are: the quality of work, presence of interesting and new challenges, opportunities to make significant contributions to a company, and finding opportunities for professional growth."So what do you specialize in?" Learning complex systems, problem solving, and project management are my areas of interest and where I excel. I prefer to work in industry and technical areas such as manufacturing and fabrication which have always interested me."What type of work do you prefer?" An ideal position would be in project management for product development on the hardware side of a company. Startups, growing businesses, etc. I enjoy being able to develop team members and provide leadership and support with technical problems while still developing my business acumen.
