About Angus Bruce

Angus is a senior landscape architect with 30+ years of experience in designing and delivering landscape architectural projects across the UK, Europe, China, SEAsia, and Australia. As a hands-on project leader, he works directly with city governments, developers, architects, engineers and communities. With extensive expertise in public realm projects, Angus’ passions are anchored in landscape architecture, public realm and urban ecology, and he specialises in designs that integrate environment, art and social needs. He has a proven track record in clear design thinking, detailed documentation, contract administration, and managing diverse project types, from small urban spaces to large-scale, nature-based public projects. Angus has held results-driven Board Director roles in landscape architecture firms Hassell, EDAW and PSB, working locally and globally at both studio and regional levels. His strong business operational skills encompass client engagement, marketing, communications, financial management, team leadership, talent mentoring, design quality oversight and construction management. As co-founding partner of PSB, an award-winning Australian landscape architectural practice, he played a key role in its 14yrs success, culminating in the firms merge with EDAW Inc. in 2007. He served as Principal + National Director of EDAW Australia for 4yrs, expanding the firm across Australia and into the MiddleEast. In 2010 Angus joined Hassell as Principal and Head of Landscape Architecture, operating out of both Sydney and London, where for 15yrs he helped lead and drive the design quality, talent development, market reputation and financial performance of the global landscape architecture team. More recently, as an independent consultant, Angus is assisting design firms, built environment businesses, and government agencies in improving their project outcomes, team dynamics, and operational efficiency. With extensive global experience as a landscape architect and design business leader, Angus collaborates closely with organisations, integrating into their business operations and leadership teams to provide strategic guidance on key projects and both design and business strategy. A former National Vice President of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, Angus is a chartered member of the UK landscape institute (CMLI), a registered member of the Irish (MILA) and Singapore Institutes of Landscape Architects (SILA) and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA FRLA)
