About Angus Keillar

As a child, I was fortunate enough to grow up on the coast and spent much of my early days exploring the ocean and surrounding nature. This experience has instilled in me a deep fascination with understanding the natural world. By understanding and respecting our environment, we can improve our own well-being and contribute to the greater good of society. Let's work together to create a more sustainable and harmonious world for ourselves and future generations. As someone who profoundly values our natural environment, I pursued a degree in Earth Sciences and am currently working on my PhD at the University of Melbourne. My research is centred around the interplay of groundwater, aquifer geochemistry, and subsurface microorganisms to better understand the evolution of sequestered carbon dioxide. This project has honed my critical thinking and problem-solving skills, specifically in carbon cycling in underground aquifers. I have a unique talent for analysing extensive, complex data sets that combine biological and geochemical processes. I am particularly interested in innovative visual communication methods within the scientific community. My specialisations include hydrogeology and environmental microbiology.
